Background :
Granzyme A is necessary for target cell lysis in cell-mediated immune responses. It activates mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization- and caspase-independent cell death pathways by cleaving the mitochondrial complex I component NDUFS3after lys56. This protein has 2 isoforms produced by alternative promoter usage.
